Event Details

Our presenter, Meghan Neri spends her time working to increase the number of food allergy allies in the world.   Megan will be teaching us all about the basics of food allergies, SAFE (a food allergy support group), the Teal Pumpkin Project (Oct 5th in Hingham, rain date Oct 6th),  and will give us some information about classes that she teaches as well as her book.  If time allows Meghan will also show us how to use epinephrine auto-injectors.

About the presenter:

Meghan Neri has managed food allergies in her home for more than 15 years, and as a former school teacher, and educator at heart, she is passionate about education.

In 2017, she co-founded SAFE (South Shore Allergy Families Educating), a food allergy support group which aims to connect caregivers and increase education & awareness in the community. In early 2023 she launched an education and consulting business called Food Allergy Allies, where through classes, workshops and consulting projects she works to educate and support those who choose to be allies to the food allergic community. Also in 2023, her book, Just One Bite, was published. She is a member of the FARE (Food Allergy Research & Education) Support Group Leader Council, and AAFANE's (Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, the New England Chapter) of the Board of Directors. She is the Team Captain of the AAFANE Falmouth Road Race Team and worked closely with the MGH Food Allergy Buddies Program in 2024. When not working she enjoys reading, gardening, paddle boarding, skiing and spending time with family and friends.

Light refreshments will be served.
