Step Back in Time: The Golden Age of Silent Film
Join us for an enchanting afternoon celebrating the Golden Age of Silent Film. Dive into the fascinating history of silent cinema, its iconic stars, and the artistry behind the era. The event features a live accompanist who will bring the films to life with an authentic musical experience. Whether you're a film enthusiast or new to silent movies, this program promises a captivating journey into one of cinema's most creative periods.
The Golden Age of silent film is a treasure trove bursting with adventure, drama, romance, comedy and every emotion we feel. Put together with live “Mood Music” accompaniment, these films provided education plus entertainment for the world. In fact, two new universal languages were born: the art of telling a story with a camera lens and the language of Pantomime. Now everyone from around the world could understand just by watching and listening. Inter-titles were used but the best films needed very few. The rules of filmmaking that were worked out back then are still used in film studios today.
